Cool... I was sort of drifting into some leg work at the gym so I'll take your advice there
I think it boils down to watching very experienced fell runners and being a begginer on the fells
It seems like everyone whizzes off.. but it's more like people have worked to get to the stage where they can start strong.. probably you dont notice how you look to a beginner
Time and patience is also what I need init?

I'm rubbish really at any distance, but I've definitely noticed a general trend that I perform better in a longer fell race. I seem to get the strength from somewhere to run past a few flagging people during the last few miles.
I'm not talking super-long tho. The longest race I've done is an AM. Shall definitely be trying the L category this year though - reckon that's where I'll do best. No sprinting on hills required!
