Going to recce it next Wednesday with Big Ken.
The advertised climb is less than Windgather but the times seem slower. Any idea why?
Oh, and most important: Is there a good cafe or pub for lunch after the recce?
Pub at Langsett right by the car park is good. http://www.langsettinn.com/

Do you mind if I join you, I know the route very well and I will be out that way anyway. What time were you going for.

There's also a really good cafe opposite the carpark. They used to run one of the cafes in hathersage but I don't know which one.

Would love someone to make sure we don't go wrong! The more the merrier. I'm not sure what the traffic is like mid-week. Mottram could be a bottleneck but I think we could get there for a 10am start.

That would be great - thanks Daz. I've put a post on the Pennine forum as well. I'll probably just get an entry, turn up on the day and see who's there.

Dog and Partridge, Bord Hill, (Sheffield side of Woodhead, you will drive past it if approaching Langsett from Mottram way) is worth a call in.
Nice food and good local brewed beer.

New bridal way from Langset Barn car park heading North first then west to Brookhouse Bridge and Hingcliffe Common, mickleden edge to cut gate summit, down to Slippery Stones, top of Howden res, down east side of res to Howden Clough up the clough to Penistone Stile keeping under Wilfrey Edge to hit Cut Gate path 150 metres west side summit and then follow outward route back.
