Hats off to Richard (Straddler) and Denby Dale Travellers for the excellent communication regarding the cancellation and attempted resheduling of the race; the phone calls the evening before the cancelled race were above and beyond the call of duty.
I was injured the year before so had to pull out. I'll get to run the bugger eventually

Annoying shoe question #7543...
From what I can make out of the map, it looks like it's mainly on tracks/paths, so no need for Mudclaw/Walsh type of shoe tomorrow, would I be correct?
There is a section of around 4 miles that's on proper fell, the rest if I remember rightly is fast tracks, depends how wet it is. Think i used the old red talons (190's)when I did the race.
Thanks Dan, I thought I could see some at that point and a bit further on as well, once you start heading back after running down along side the res. Was checking it out on Google Earth(!) and reading back to past years comments on this, from page 1, haha! Sounds like I will go for Walsh's, potentially slippery flags on the route, don't fancy an injury.
