    Favourite Lakeland Views

    Hi all,

Just having a reflective moment and thinking about planning my next training run in the lakes. It got me thinking about some of my favourite lakeland views that I have come across over the years.

5 Immeadiatly came straight to mind :

    Haweswater Reservoir from Branstree
The Helvellyn range and Thirlmere from the top of Ravens Crag
Glenridding, Ullswater and the Helvelynn Range from Side Farm campsite on a clear night, Glenridding lights reflecting on a still Ullswater are a must
Pike o Stickle from Crinkle Crags. (If this hill was in Scotland it would be called a pap not a pike, correct me if im wrong)

The view of Wastwater from the top of Kirk Fell

Has anyone else any favourite lakeland views that would be worth a visit on training runs?

    Thats a really difficult one.

After lots of thought (and I am sure after reading other replies I will change my mind), mine are:

    Face of Gable from Lingmell
Borrowdale from the side of Grange Fell
View from near wastwater upto Wasdale Head
    Loughrigg Tarn
    30 years and still here.

So many to choose from but ones that instantly spring to mind for me are:

The view from High Raise on a clear day
    Top of Dale Head
At the end of Blea Tarn looking towards the Langdale Pikes

Many times I've done a training run up Castle Crag before breakfast just for the view out to Derwentwater - and not too much effort involved.

    Wasdale Head for me.

The view from the back bathroom of Lingmell House B&B is superb.

I'm sat looking at the Helm as I post. Even the view from Kendal castle is quite impressive.
