a good shoe though for racing, didnt slide once on the snow/slippyrock in wales on saturday.
The 270's and 330's have both got fantastic grip but I find they don't last much longer than 200 miles (thats 200 on rocky ground like Lakes and North Wales)

I try to keep them for races only and use Montrail Highlanders for training but may be switching to La Sportiva Crosslights

Yeah, I use the 270s for racing, but the tops fall apart a bit to quickly when caught on brambles, rocks etc and I've never been too fond of the innovative lacing system.

When I saw the 330s, I thought they might be 270s with tougher uppers and lacing for us more conservative types, but they've got the harder rubber on the soles.

May be there is too much choice, or not enough. Why not a choose your sole, choose your upper option (similar to Pizza Hut). No increase in price of course as we're already paying enough.

Bloody hell, what a lot of naval-gazing stamp-collecting train-spotting sadness is being displayed here.
Look, K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Stupid). When you want a comfortable training shoe, you pick the one called 'PB Trainer'. When you wanna go fast and beat yer mates, you pick the 'PB Racer'. Its that simple!!!

So you can stick yer 2700533.90 Innywhatsit shoe for slightly damp grass model versus the 2700533.91 ever-so-slightly-more damp model arguments where the sun don't shine!!

Yes Wheeze, but even Walshes are getting complicated now what with xtremes and elites and ultras...

Navel gazing, stamp collecting, train spotting or Walsh wearing. Not impressed with any of the options.

Ah, well, what you'll be needing then is a nice pair of Dunlop Green Flash pumps
