    bladder or bottle

first MM and wondered if anyone ahd any advice on which may be a better option, using a OMM 25ltr sac and have heard differing opinions on which is better, using a bladder or carrying a bottle and filling up at stream when needed, any advice?

    Bottle every time.
Start carrying less weight and easier to fill up.

If there's plenty of water around then I just use a mug and scoop from streams.
First run then beer. If no run then proceed directly to beer.

I hate bladders - they weigh far too much when full and sloosh around when they aren't. Bottles for me.

A short length of plastic tubing is far more practical, weighs less and is easier to carry.

Even that's a bit weighty when every ounce counts - just stick your head in a stream

That can take too much time and you don't always get a good drink, but it is a good way of cooling your head.

I've had many years perfecting the art of drinking, and I've just about got the hang of it.

    cheers

I've had many more years of experience and still need to practise the art of drinking on a regular basis. However I now prefer a simpler method than sticking my head in a puddle.

Plastic tubing isn't much cop for drinking tea out of at the overnight camp though .
