    Ilkley Trail Race

A new(ish) race for 2008, 6.9 miles through woods, on trails and across moorland...... plus a tiny bit of tarmac . A steady climb (Cat C) up the other side of the valley from Ilkley moor, a loop on top and a blast back downhill to the finish!

    More details here

    http://www.ilkleyharriers.org.uk/trail/index.html

A good alternative for anyone who isn't doing Helvellyn on the same day!

    New records to be set...........

Hope to see a some forumites there?

Sounds like a good event. Can't see me doing Helvellyn so I'll probably give this a go.

Great idea giving unwanted race t-shirts away to this very good cause, - I will be bringing a few clean T-shirts on Sunday.

Thanks to all those who ran today, hope you all enjoyed it?

A bit breezy on the moors I think but generally a good day all round.

Thanks to all at Ilkley Harriers, a great little Trail Race. Particularly enjoyed the tail wind bit and the down hill bit!!

Not sure about the I man eco bag though
How long before other organisers start asking us to bring our own eco bag with us to put the goodies in?

Re: Ilkley Trail Race Sun May

Well organised affair by Ilkley Harriers, the toughness of the course caught many of us out, didnt help by being buffeted by the wind !

I'm happy with my eco-bag and goodies inside it

One thing did p*ss me off though, 3or 4 runners at the first stile trying to get over the fence rather than get in the queue, despite being told by the marshal.

Don't know if they were the eventual race winners. If they were should have disqualified 'em !!
