    Joss Naylor Challenge

I have read and followed the posts on the BGR threads.

However my interest (i am sure there are others) lies in the Joss Naylor challenge, i have all the same questions as those for the BGR.

Like where do i find training logs, schedules etc etc for the Joss Naylor.

I May have a crack at the Joss Naylor as a gauge of fitness prior to the WHW race.

Any help as to route, pacing, training etc would be gratefully received.

    Re: Joss Naylor Challenge

I don't think that I have seen any published schedules for the Joss Naylor but it is a bit tougher pace than say the BGR at 40 miles and 5000m of ascent in twelve hours as opposed to 63miles and 8000m of ascent for the BGR in 24 hours.

    Rough route is:
Pooley Bridge, Arthur's Pike, Loadpot Hill, Wether Hill, High Raise, Kidstey Pike, High Street, Threshthwaite Beacon, Caudale Moor, Kirkstone Pass, Red Screes, Dove Crag, Hart Crag, Fairfield, Seat Sandal, Dunmail Raise, Steel Fell, High Raise, Rossett Pike, Bowfell, Esk Pike, Great End, Great Gable, Kirkfell, Pillar, Steeple, Haycock, Seatallan, Middle fell, Joss's House.

I may have missed a top or two or got something wrong in there but that is the rough line of it.

Contact Monica Shone (see Fellrunner for details) and she will send you schedules.

I have copies so send pm if you want one.

Mercia Fell Runners used to have a page including schedules, but it seems to have been dropped when they re-organised their website?

    Re: Joss Naylor Challenge

I did the Joss Naylor Challenge last year using the 15 hour schedule (55 - 59 age group). If you look at my site www.cooltravels.me.uk you will see my theoretical and actual schedule. If you want the 12 hour timings Monica Shone will be able to provide (she always has an article in the FRA magazine).
    Hope this helps.
