This fell run covers a distance of some 48 miles, traversing 30 summits and climbing 16,000ft in the process. It is for veteran fell runners over 50 and each is required to raise at least £100 for a charity of their choice. Time allowances differ in 5 year slots from over 50 to 0ver 65 for men and for women.



In 1990 Joss Naylor set up the run and Chris Brasher offered pewter tankards to those who succeeded and who raised the charity money.These desirable items are still on-going.



Briefly, the day starts by traversing all the summits from Pooley Bridge, via Kidsty, High Street, Thornthwaite to the Kirkstone Inn. .

Leg 2 goes from there via Red Screes, Fairfield and Seat Sandal to Dunmail Raise.

Leg 3 ascends Steel Fell, to High Raise and on to Rossett Pike, Bowfell and Great End to Sty Head. Thence over all the summits from Great Gable, via , Scoat,Haycock, Seatallan and Middlefell to the finish at Greendale Bridge in Wasdale.



It is a great day on the hill and must include a pacer for each leg as a witness to sign the schedule at the end. There are only two road crossings.
Time allowances range from 12 hours for
men and women aged 50 to 54 , to 24 hours for those aged 65 and over.
