Two of us did this yesterday. Some of you may have heard of the epic Tan Hill Inn to Cat & Fiddle Inn - 120 miles linking the two highest pubs in England. The Tan-Kirkstone is its little brother being a pub crawl of a mere 45 miles and 11000'. It was devised by Pete Simpson a couple of years ago who, incidently, has done both routes!

Mist and showers made it tricky going over to Nine Standards but after Mallerstang edge there was excellent visibility crossing Wild Boar Fell and the Howgills where we dropped off to cross under the M6 before a long run up Borrowdale and onto traverse the Eastern Fells to High Street and then down to the Kirkstone.

It is part of the Over The Series and we managed a first class time. Highly recommended day out with varied running throughout.
