Only one winner in the men's -
Paul Howarth of Eryri - ex half marathon king now making a Joe Bugner / Bjorn Borg / Eddie "Eagle" Edwards comeback..............look out?!
In the womens - the Norwegian...............
Ian Holmes for the V40 and top 5 overall for me.
John Brown. Or at least I would like him to.
Mary for the ladies race, but think Mudge will be hard to beat.

Didn't get a number when the entries were open for however many minutes it took to fill!!! I was offered a number from someone but it was never in the plans.
Seriously, Robb Jebb should win. Would love Browny to win as hes from our club but if I was putting a fiver on it I would have to go with Robb Jebb.

What about natalie white for the womens race. Won at Black Combe by 2 minutes and has a number according to the website
Also is it any wonder Llloyd was tired after Edale he'd done the Manx one the week before so dis Manx, edale then mourne the following week. I don't care how good someone is you'll get tired after that
Can't see past Angela Mudge for the ladies race, but I'm pretty sure that North East Wales's very own Kiwi Anna Frost will do very well.
In the mens, Jebby will take some beating if he's got over the cold that caused him to drop out of the Mournes race.
Chris to be 6th V40.
I've just decided I don't trust you anymore.
I'd be surprised if a newcomer won either mens or womens races - in my experience the course has caught too many people out in the past for that, usually because they fall into the trap of running too fast between PYG and RH.
In the women's race I can't see anyone getting near Sarah Rowell's record which was set on a near perfect day.
One prediction I can make with some confidence is that most of us will be further down the results than last year. The field will be very strong at the top end because of the international element and the fact that it's a championship race.
if I can't see blencathra it's raining
if I can see blencathra it's going to rain
