Yes.I think the first time was 1987 or earlier.I remember wathching Roger Hackney in the Mens open.I think My best was just over 7mins.I was 15 at the time.
The road gradually steepens until the kick up near the top.The oxygen debt causes considerable pain at this point.
Really good atmosphere, which makes it a good night out.
A great night, but Vernon turned up to p*ss on Pike's bonfire again!

Also, this day.....today that is..... in 1954: British athlete Roger Bannister became the first man to run a mile in under four minutes, in Oxford.

I believe Vernon is running this tonight. Anyone got any results?

No results on the night, they will take about a week then be posted on the web site.
Vernon won with something silimar to last year's 6:26. His fastest time remains 6:18 in 2006. Bashir's record of 6:12 from 1991 still stands.

Thanks Pike,
Really good to hear SteveV is still up for a pop at Bashirs record!
I missed it again......
A sort of common sense got in the way.....
After a day in the car, "sensibly" opted for PFRT trot up & over Edale Cross & beyond...
Next Year maybe!!
