This topic began on the Three Peaks thread after I confessed to ordering a Chinese banquet for six - for two people - after the race.
I wonder if MSG deficiency is a phenomenon well-known to sports nutritionists?
Alternatively - and here I'm being slightly serious for a change - we know the reputation of (takeaway) Chinese food: you fill yourself up on it and then you're hungry again an hour later. This could indicate that it's relatively quick to be digested, which could make it ideal for getting carbs and salt back into your system rapidly. It was definitely a 'my body needs...' reaction - I don't normally eat Chinese food. (In fact I had to visit a neighbour to ask where to find the nearest decent takeaway!)
This craving hasn't struck me before.
Have any other forumites experienced urges for any particular food after a big (long) race?
