    Runners ID/Safety Tags

Anybody got any good ideas or suggestions for runners ID tags.

Now summer has arrived i'm spending more early morning / evenings out in the peaks on my own.

I usually just write my name and number on my head - but invariably this has disappeared by the time i've finished.

    Thanks

Why do you need to be ID'd?

Metal dog tag on a chain with Name, Address & phone number should it. Don't forget to get the 'silencer' with it to stop the tag & chain rattling.

With the details also in brail, just in case a blind person stumbles over your corpse

Have you tried a permanent marker pen?

And do you use a mirror?

Doesn't need to be in brail because the letters are punched into the metal plate.

I cant believe i wrote 'head' instead of 'hand'!!!

I was wondering what the comment about the mirror was about.

I gather from one or two of the comments that its not very manly to run with any ID - a bit like mountain biking without a helmet?

I was talking to Brett about this recently. In my caving days whether I did a trip in a group or solo, we always designated a partner or relative who would raise the alarm if we did not ring in my a certain point. I run on my own quite often but it never ocurs to me to do this nowadays, however I do take a mobile with me midweek in case work needs me and I have had some interesting conversations on the top of Whernside et al with clients.

Is there not a 'Cram Tag' which you can attach to your shoes? I might have read this wrong, but I am sure some relative of his had an incident when out running and no one could work out who he was. Hence, The Cram Tag, write details on it and attach to shoes. makes sense to me, used to get a right telling off when I told my mum where I had been out running and the fact I hadn't informed her first!
