Has anyone on this forum done the Davos 78k ?

I was just wondering if they'd recommend it,
and what the ratio of road to trail is like.

Hi Iain,
Thanks for the info.
The Davos 78k thingmy looks like it has the advantage of easy online entry.
I'm guessing it's not that rugged underfoot, but could still be a good day out.
Spoke with Maggie (who wrote the article) last night at evening race, she did the marathon and said it was superb, that was all off road, quite a hilly run over alpine passes, trails underfoot. really recomended it. She wasn't sure of the full route. Really sociable event, pasta party the night before, great support from the locals, out with cow bells etc. I mentioned that I past on their email to you, and she said email Alwyn if you want any advice as he did the full 78k route. Sounds really good, think I'll keep it in mind for the future.
Thanks Iain - It sounds quite interesting .... I'm thinking about signing up.
By chance I was guiding a rather eccentric Orthopaedic surgeon from Luxembourg around the Snowdon 3000ers last night and up again at 4 am to get him established on the glyders before leaving him to come to work, (he flew over from Lux specially to do the 3000ers as training for kiting across the greenland icecap!), and he's done the C2C version of the UTMB and Davos. He really recommends Davos. Says its far more runnable than C2C, mainly on good trails so much better underfoot than the C2C, well supported so you have to carry little/nothing.

Thanks as well. I had it pencilled in for 2009 so all these positive comments are encouraging.
