Saw a Roe Deer on the edge of Heaton Park while I was on the bus. There's a reason to be cheerful.

That deer pretty much lives in our garden now, with a few of its friends.

Curlews yesterday, frogspawn, and jackdaws occupying a nest box at work. Spring is springing!
An amazing red/orange bird with black face and beard. No idea what it is but it's been literally banging at the window of the dining hall (I'm at a conference centre in Dallas) for the last half hour. - Just been told in French it's a 'cardinal'. Anyone know its English name?
I think that's it, a cardinal bird. We don't get them over here though!
