Not todays but last Thursday night. One Fox and a decent sized Owl of some description, very close when I spotted it but it swooped off sharpish before I got a good look.

Seeing quite a few woodcock now, which is nice. Last week in Cheshire 3 got up from an area of about 6ft. Another one in the woods above home today. Snipe on the higher ground and marshy bits.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

At least 4 hares in full white winter colouring. They looked a bit out of plce as most of the snow on Outer Edge has melted!
Nearly trod on two of them, as they were hiding under heather and in dips in the ground, but no hares were harmed...

I saw 2 or 3 of them run away from the group at Margary hill.

Stopped for a "call of nature" on my way up Simons Seat this morning. Just about to set back off & spotted a very cute mole snuggled up to the wall. Managed a moment or 2 of closer inspection before he scurried inbetween said wall. Would have like to have taken him home to show the children.
