Loads of curlew, greater spotted woodpecker, several oystercatcher, three grey wagtail, dipper and pair of goosander on this evening's Wharfedale walk. No chiffchaff, sand martin or common sandpiper yet

Not surprising with this unseasonable cold. Perhaps they'll arrive en masse next week when the milder weather moves in.

Wood Wood Mouse has returned to the back yard wall at home...

The first 3 slow worms of the year in the garden. Basking under the sheet of corrugated.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

Chiffchaff this morning by the Peak Forest Canal just outside Marple. 2 weeks later than last year.

Also Siskin on the nyjer seeds which meant the Redpoll & Goldfinch had to resort to the sunflower hearts. 3 of the most beautiful small birds to visit my garden.

I've been winding down my car windows every time I've passed a suitable chiffchaff spot plus went to local woods on Tuesday and still not heard one yet. I'll get one this weekend. Bring on the willow warblers, black caps, woodies and garden warblers!

    Waxwings!! Nice! Love the Waxwings.

One my run today I had a great view of a Sparrowhawk flying down, actually within, the drainage ditches by the hedgerow! Never seen one quite that low before. It flow right the way down for about 200 metres! It stopped a couple of times to perch on the fence for a little look-see!
