Spotted a few Snow Bunting on the Cam road while heading out to recce Dodd fell. A wild and wintery day up there but these buntings were in their element. Always a lovely little bird to spot.

A little mouse on a wet n windy fell
WOODZY.
Several (not at the same time) red kites, gliding low, i.e. eye-level, over the fields. I know they're not rare anymore but they never cease to impress me and get so close and low. Must remember to try to take some pictures next time - I had my camera with me but I still forgot!
I saw the snow buntings too...and a little fat vole between fleet moss and middle tongue (I was running with MashamMan)

2 ospreys down by the park reservoir, internet has confirmed they winter down here.
Hadn't realised quite how big they were
Snow Buntings yesterday on Ingleborough. Possibly Golden plover coming off Whernside, the long way into Ingleton. It was very, very 'claggy' though so only saw shadows and heard the call.

who knows what the numerous tiny little birds on the beach this time of year, could be? they are funny little things and look comical as they skitter across the sand close to the waters edge... just curious?
