    Thanks for the link wharfee, sad to see that such a beautiful beast is killed. I believe that, outside of Scotland, the groughs of the High Peak are the only habitat mountain hare have in the UK. Had anyone had the rare fortune to spot them elsewhere?

    Nice one on getting a snap of a mountain hare in the snow Ian, I had to look hard to make it out in prevailing conditions!

    you can see by the other pictures that the foot prints of hares were every where.

    Won't be heading back up until after new year now but will take my big camera and see what I can get

    About twenty deer today in a field off to the left of the road coming down towards Crag Hall in Wildboarclough. They were pretty big so I'd guess red deer, but none had obvious antlers.
