Nearly trod on what I think was a vole in the half light last night, the little fella (or fellarette) didn't half cower, good job I spotted him (or her) :-)

lots around on kinder and Bleaklow at moment.
driving up the A1 to meet the spine saw about 10 kites and I'm pretty sure a sparrow hawk but could have been a kestrel but looked a little small for that with a longer tail.
we don't get Kites in the peak often so this was a delight.
Short-eared owl. I've not seen one for about 5 years. The last sighting was about 100 yards away from where I saw this one - over Taggsclough Hill just near the A54. A nice treat to reward my first run in a few weeks.
We were just watching Winterwatch on iPlayer last night and they had a short film about them. Apparently they're winter migrants.
a bit slow off the mark but a mountain hare taken with camera.

Saw a Little Egret just outside Ingleton about a week ago, then Snow Buntings up on Ingleborough. Just before it steepens on Ingleton side. Not getting much on the feeders just now. Did think we'd get a bit more out here!

Red kite over lidl car park in Ammanford this week, common as muck in S. Wales!
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.
Funny week. Saw a curlew flying over the deep snow on Thursday, probably just realising that his mates have upped sticks.
Made a real find today though, the first adult stag I've seen and I had my camera!
