I'm not too sure to be honest.
Usually when I'm shooting into the sky I will over-expose in order to bring some detail to the subject, otherwise you just end up with a dark subject with unrecoverable detail.
I've 'worked' on the Buzzard to bring out the highlights, though there was good sunlight on the underside of the bird.
I'm not technically minded when it comes to photography, so apologies for the poor answer to your question.
This is a low-res, uncropped version of the original...

And my Dolphin spot at Christmas was miss identified as Porpoise, has since been confirmed as a Commons Dolphin with a decent photo here

FWIW I thought it was a Dolphin but the chap that runs the above website reckoned on Porpoise

In other spots, an Owl which I've yet to determine, got remarkably close but I'm fairly sure it was a juvenile so the sizing is confusing me. And some colleagues spotted a pair of Eagles above Loch Ness last Thursday, they think Sea Eagles. I again missed out as I went for a run.

Slacker! You've no dedication to wildlife spotting, that's your problem.

Peacock strutting around our back garden, even displaying its tail feathers for a while. Then it made friends with our cat. OK, so it's not wildlife (it lives at a farmhouse not far from us), but it's different from the usual garden visitors.

Lots of Lapwings and Curlew on the fields in front on Denton Hall, Ilkley backroad. Greenfinch at the feeder and long tail tits on the ground below, Cormorant on the river. Nice to see on a nasty day like today. Hoping to have a recce of Edale skyline tomorrow, I'd be pleased with better weather.

well this week I've had 3 courses running. We've seen flocks of Lapwings and Golden Plovers, heard a Curlew..not seen one yet. First skylarks of the year, A peregrine and about 20 mountain hares in full white pelts.

The hills are coming alive again

I tried for a run during the week but my legs gave up on my second mile, so I just walked the last four.
It was a lovely day with blue skies, there were yellowhammers singing ni bushes, Gulls shouting at me, frogspawn in a pool, a woodpecker hammering a tree, snowdrops flowering. lambs calling out to me, it was good.

This was on the coast of Cumbria - Sandwith to St,. Bees.

Loads of frogspawn in the icy puddles up on the Moelwyns leg of the PB at the weekend. Hardy buggers them Welsh frogs!

Skylarks singing around Hayfield the previous weekend as well.
