Attachment 3670while walking from patterdale up to helvellyn last week i saw at least a dozen young red squirrels chasing each other around a tree and even coming over to within 5 feet of me to look at me not scared at all. i cant remember ever seeing one before not having any in worcestershire.here is one of the shots i took.

I have just seen my first 'slow worm' - he/she was sunbathing in the middle of a nice quiet country footpath !
