Drove home from Shuttlingleshoe race a couple of hours ago and smoke from this fire was very visible around the M60 - M66 junction. Must be quite big.
Could even smll the burning going up the M61 past Bolton - also back on my way home from Shuttlingsloe.
..and with the extreme winds this may be the burning smell this afternoon in radcliffe? some distance.
I rode up from Mytholmroyd this afternoon unaware of the fire. With the wind behind it was the easiest climb up there ever but did I pay for it later on climbing back over the Pennines. From what I could see the fires were out of control despite the best efforts of half of West Yorkshires firemen. I don't know about training routes but the Blackstone edge race route may be badly affected, anyone know any better?
yes, I thank you.
usually the local arsonists near the canal, 200 yds away. 15-20 miles 'though?
It was like riding through thick fog by Hollingworth lake, very strange, still coughing up crap
Maybe the wind will change and give Rochdale a much needed makeover
What do you reckon Danbert?
Very quiet in Rochdale today. Then I realised it was 10 past 3. Perhaps dissapointed fotball fans will do the job if the fire doesn't?
