we organise 1 x big race then just have the summer league and XC races that we do
Its hard with not many members

    Not sure 130 - 50.

We are lucky in that most people are active in one way or another and as I said the junior section is thriving as we have a junior athletics club that meets each tues and thurs.

    Good or bad
So many runners out there but not many want to run in a club.

Ive started a beginners section and its going well but still we have low numbers , currently about 60

have any fell clubs ever merged in the past
10 years ago Stocksbridge Pacesetters folded and the active members came to Penistone.
Don't think anyone has looked back since. Very recently we Penistone Footpath Runners have seen a big serge in membership and have attracted some very usefull members, some from neighbouring clubs for one reason or another.
We do have a few Dark Peak joining us for road and cross country reasons.
Beginners section is a good way forward, we try to cater for absolute novices right through to serious racing types.
Doesn't always work but we keep trying.

A big serge in membership? That's because everyone was itching to join.

    (Sorry Swoop).
