    Perfect training partner

    Good home wanted for Moel:

    Moel is a lurcher puppy approx 8 weeks old. She was found abandoned and starved with rickets, worms, fleas and mange. She is now well on the way to full health, and shows every sign of developing into the perfect training companion.

    Pictures available at:

    http://picasaweb.google.com/dna100/Dogs

    She will probably be smooth coated and grow to 23-26 inches, though with her unknown history this is a bit of guesswork, as is her breeding. But she shows typical appearance of the classic lurcher cross of greyhound x collie, maybe with a hint of Saluki. This combination provides the ideal strength, speed, endurance and hardiness for fell running- so were you to offer her a home, not only would you feel good about yourself, but your race results would improve too...

    She is vaccinated, deflead, dewormed and has begun basic training. She is young enough to be easily stock trained.

    She is available for viewing in Gloucestershire, Bristol, or at Waun Fach, Kentmere, Borrowdale......

    Hello Longdogs. I too suffer with an infestation of longdogs. A deerhound, saluki/greyhound lurcher and a runt of a whippet.
    I find these dogs will tire after 10 miles. If it is chucking it down they will take off back home if I give them half a chance. Soft.
    easy to train with stock but rabbits and deer are another ball game.
    let the good times roll.

    Agreed- the true longdog is quite useless for long runs- the one on my avatar stops and lies down when he's had enough, and that's when he deigns to even start the run!. I have a lurcher though with some bull terrier in it- she is absolutely tireless, her longest run to date is 50 miles and still going strong. Also good in all weathers- the deerhound is water-soluble. I think this pup has enough collie in her to make a good running dog, though time will tell! Rabbits are fair game, though i have had a few unfortunate bambi incidents!

    Hardly an advert..........."Pup, GSOH?, one careful owner, WLTM owner with cast iron stomach in the early hours and shares in Domestos. Washable floor coverings ideal, but not essential."

    Re: Perfect training partner

    The door was propped open but the puppy is too small to get down the stairs! (I live on first floor above vet clinic). However i'm going to Rome today for 4 days so it's someone else's problem

    This banter is all very well but i can't help noticing no one has come forward yet with an offer of a home... I'm not above using the threat of euthanasia as emotional blackmail...
