    Default Amir Khan

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...821355,00.html

What a waster! How the hell is he going to win a world title if this is the kind of opposition Frank Warren is looking at lining up for him?

He's over-rated and Frank knows it - he's just trying to protect his investment (and Khan's 18-0 record) by putting him in with one of the 3 categories:

    1) Over-the-hills fighters
    2) Never has-been fighters
    3) Not bad fighters, but they're super-featherweights or even featherweights!

Derrick Gainer is a mixture of number 1 and 3, i.e he wasn't bad, but he is over the hill and his best fights were 2 weight divisions lower than Khan.

Gomez (who he fought in the last fight) was a natural super-featherweight, and Gainer is a natural featherweight - is that really heading in the right direction Amir?

He has good hands, but a porcelain chin.

Point vindicated tonight methinks. 'A mere Con' exposed as the mediocre fighter he is - the man with the porcelain chin.

Oh, I've been kicking him a lot longer than that

I just didn't like the way he was publicly calling out a few of the world's £4£ best fighters when he'd not even beaten the best of Britain. When he got dropped against feather-fisted Willie Limond (the referee's count actually took about 13 seconds in that fight!), I knew the writing was on the wall.

I actually paid the equivalent of £1000 per hour to watch that fight (£15 for 54 secs) but it was the best £15 I've ever spent.

A little lad in my class loves Amir Khan......

When asking him what he'd done at the weekend he replied:
    "I watched Amir Khan's fight".

I felt obligation to ask him what he'd done with the rest of his weekend as that didnt take long.

Surprised no-one's mentioned Amir Khan's fight at the weekend.

Since joining Freddie Roach in America, Khan has looked like a different fighter to the one that the one that got knocked out by Prescott. He put on an awesome display the other night; I'll gladly admit that I was wrong - I'm glad he's dumped Warren and is getting his career on the track it should be.

He took punches the other night that would have floored any other 140lb fighter, so well done Amir

Makes you wonder why people pay to watch heavyweights fight these days, chances are the big boys fights will be a non-event, unlike their slightly smaller bretheren.
So much to do and so little time :(
