I tried mechanical discs on a cross bike and came to the conclusion that my Shimano cross specific canti's are better... Can't afford the hope converter, they are like gold dust anyway, or were last season... and retailed at about £300 :w00t:

Han, Were they Shimano or Avid? A mate has Avid BB7's on both a touring bike and an ATB, he loves them. Better than the BB5's on his short-lived Boardman 'crosser! Had a nasty experience on the 'crosser 15 months ago; the rims picked up moist snow then iced up, hence looking to get away from rim brakes for off-road and winter!

I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!
Not quite as muddy as Daz... but another great photo by our very own muddy sports photographer Dominion

No idea what the techno reaon is but posters who put thumbs on I can open up the file but otherwise its just the wretched red 'x' in a box. No idea what the mud looked like or those pesky brakes - quite spoiling my monday morning!!
