Maybe attempting to push too high a gear?
I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!

In that case, I should be equally knackered after every ride!

Well, after a crap couple of weeks and many a gallon of ale, a quick check on the scales confirmed what I suspected. It's official Stagger now needs renaming Fat Stagger 14st 2lb. After making hard work of Rivy Pike and struggling the morning after on a recovery run (3m) I've decided the bike needed to be brought back in to my life.
So I planned a 20m ride, 10 out and then turn and retrace route. The hill from Brighouse up to Queensbury once again confirmed what I already knew.
Now I must lose a stone in a month through bloody hard work.
I hope to keep the cycling going too, great for cross training.

Good luck Trev. I lost maybe a stone over the winter but have put some back on recently through gluttony and sloth

Well two out of seven is forgivable if you just stay clear of pride, greed, lust, envy and wrath.

I find lust very difficult to steer clear of, it normally dictates which checkout i go to when i'm in Otley Waitrose.

22m 1200ft and a cracking afternoon to be out.
Gave the bike a clean and mini service this morning, now need to be kind to my body and drop a couple of kg's.

    Cracking afternoon.

37.5m for me this aft. There's no such thing as a smooth road any more, Ilkley may aswell be cobbled as all the silly resurfacing has made it a nightmare. There's just no relief from it, i've seen smoother farm tracks than the A65. Coming out of Addingham towards Bolton Abbey all the crappy resurfacing has just worn off wherever there's an overhanging tree, you're swerving all the time. They need to start using actual tarmac again, not a load of stones and a roller.
