    Olympics 2008

What's everyone looking forward to watching/keeping tabs on (given the time difference)/hoping for success in?

Personally it will be good to see a few GB pbs in the athletics, plenty of medals in the cycling and also looking froward to the Triathlon (Come on Alistair!!).

Boxing is always a highlight. That and the swimming to see what Sharon Davies is wearing. Some of the tops she wears wouldn't look out of place in a wet tshirt contest.

Watching the 800m and 1500m should be good a I have seen two lads in these races train and compete a lot this year. Obviously watching Dan Robinson in the marathon will be good.

And I suppose watching radcliffe grit it out in the womens marathon will be a highlight. Interesting thread on eightlane.com about Radcliffe.

Whilst it must be a great felling to run in something like the marathon in Beijng looking at he news this morning the smog along the marathon route looks dreadful. I wonder how it would affect your running and would it be as bad as what people say?

Just read interesting piece in the telegraph about their reporter out in China who walked a few hundred metres on the Great Wall. He couldn't believe how humid and hot it was and how it affected him just walking. I am sure the marathon runners in the Olympic marathon have fully researched the conditions and prepared in a manner they think will help them in the race.

Lot of pressure on Mark Cavendish and Philips Idowu to do well. I'm going to South America next week and suspect I might miss a lot of the tv coverage
