Should be down house hunting on the way south the Bristol, so may jog out ankle permitting. Is it a full on studs fell race as i wouldn't be taking them with me otherwise?

Is it meant to be this hard?

No, there are some road/track sections. Trail shos would probably be enough though it can get muddy in places and the forecast isn't great.

    ** IMPORTANT NOTICE **
The start of the Dennis Stitt race (Thurs 14th Aug) has changed to Cartworth Moor Cricket Club. There will be people at the Victoria Inn who will redirect runners to the Cricket Club or make your way straight to the Cricket Club if you can.

Cartworth Moor Cricket Club is where this years Holme Moss Fell race started - please let club mates etc know at tonights training etc if you can

There are still free pints for the first 20 finishers (let's face it whatever it is it must be better than that Thwaites swill we have had to endure at the Victoria for the last few years) and centenary T-shirts for all finishers, plus the usual Russ Bangham extensive prize list.
Another added bonus is that the local midges should miss out on their annual feast at the end of the race.

    Re: Dennis Stitt Memorial Race

Despite being the second windiest place in the world (after Penistone Hill near Haworth in case you were wondering) Cartworth Moor cricket club had more than its fair share of midges last night. They seemed to take a particular liking to Mrs. Compo (aka Nora).

Good race, all a bit fast and furious for me, and as always an impressive array of prizes. We needed a lift home to carry all the beer.

    Re: Dennis Stitt Memorial Race

There was an error with the team results on the night. If Kilpin, Storey and Charlsworth of Penistone - who should have been awarded 3rd team are reading this please contact Russell Bangham on 01484 682741 so he can correct it.

If not I'm sure there is someone from Penistone on here, if they can pass the message on

    Thanks
