Can members of improper clubs like Fell Ponies, Steam Bunnies enter the Northerns and Nationals, or do you have to affliated to that very valuable and efficient organistion the UKA (or whatever they're called this week)

I'm afraid you and the Ponies are scuppered for the Northern and National XC Pudgy.
Unless you go and join an UKA affiliated club - or the Ponies affiliate

In fact I think the clubs have to make the entries on behalf of their members.

You can do the Lancs Champs though as an unattached athlete (and this applies to other County Champs) as long as you are Lancs qualified through birth or residence.

I had to have a look, just to be sure that it wasn't a Danbert spoof link

Yeah I find the situation unfortunate. you also CANNOT affiliate to UKA / England Athletics as an individual.....which is a terrible shame and rather diappointing. All in all it makes the BOWLAND FELL RUNNERS membership (fully affiliated) at £5 a year a real bargain......

Yeah....i'm looking forward to the XC season too, North Eastern "Harrier" League, great fun although a few of them always clash with local fell races which is shame

We retire to our local pub for free food and too many beers after every race, which is why i pay my membership fee
