Anyone know what time the junior races are? The only published time seems to be 1030 for the seniors.
Anyone know what time the junior races are? The only published time seems to be 1030 for the seniors.
No idea - I sent an email to [email protected] but have not received any response.
and the website http://www.csrt.co.uk/events.php doesn't give much away either.
Any news would be welcome.
Anyone else with any ideas?
Is it me or are the juniors being short changed? Can we imagine an English senior champs race without a published start time!
Website has this email address: [email protected]
I am just trying to clarify the start times etc.
So far, the registration will close at 10.30am with the first junior race at 10.45am, approximately.
I will post again when I get fuller details.

10.30 am Junior Registration closes and Senior Race starts
10.45 am U8s U10s and U12s start
10.50 am U16s and U18s start
11.15 am U14s start
2.00 pm Junior Do starts at the Carlton Lodge Outdoor cetre near Thirsk.
The races are compacted like this as the organisers are the local mountain rescue team and are concerned about reducing the time they are commited in case of a rescue call out.
There will be no entry fee for the juniors, but they will be accepting donations to the rescue team.
U8s will do one hilly lap
U10s will do two laps
U12s will do the same two laps but will then have an extra loop
U14s will do a loop that has yet to be finalised, but will be near the max distance
U16s and U18s will do the same loop which is near the limit for the U16s distance.
The course will be near to the maximum distances, with the exception of the U18s. I am told that the U16/U18 loop is a good loop, and making it any longer for the U18s would be contrived.
More details and a map should appear on http://www.csrt.co.uk/events.php. The link in the Fellrunner has been taken down, to the huge irritation of the organiser.
I am told by the organiser that they may use several finish areas as there will be a number of races out at the same time. They intend to video the finishes to allow for any problems to be sorted. Parents/responsible adults will have to sign to say that they are happy for this to happen or it will not be possible for that child to race. Please let me know well before the race if this will be a problem. After the results have been finalised the tape will be destroyed. The organiser is a teacher and has been CRB checked, as have I and an number of the organising team.
I hope this answers most questions.

Just got back after a fantastic day - Richard even ordered the weather.
Race distances were tough, especially for the girls. The do in the afternoon was superb and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Pretty tough for spectators as well
But echo the comments about the Junior Do - it was excellent.
Courses and terrain was excellent and I wouldn't mind finishing there next year.
Absolutely to all the above that was far more like the doctor ordered lets hope its on again next year as I think a camping trip will be in order. The presentation idea worked a treat. My 3 lads have had a great day out. Thanks
Ps I picked up the paper to print out the certificates now if anyone can tell me where they are hidden then that would be a great help
