Screes and post offices

Anyone doing the Screes who also lives near a post office?

I'm having a few days loitering up hills, and am planning to combine a walky recce of the Wasdale course (staying at Black Sail and Wasdale Hall YHs) with an embarassingly slow race at the Screes on Saturday 19 October.

But, I don't really want to drag my running shoes and bumbag etc round with me if I can help it (I've just weighed them, and I don't fancy the resistance training. And I need to leave space in my rucksack for my big girl's blouse).

Sooooo, I thought I might post them to myself at Wasdale YH, and then after the race give them (all pre-wrapped up in almost-smell-free brown paper and stamps and all that) to some cooperative shoe fetishist to post back to me.

Anyone? Anyone?

If your running shoes are anything like my Rab MM partner's, you'll need one of those special convoys Sellafield use to transport them back.

Why don't you ring the PO in NW up and ask them if they will hold it for you to collect.............?
