I've just had a call from Colin Beck of BOFRA to say that the show and race has been cancelled due to the weather. Cars are even struggling to reach Wasdale Head with the water running off the valley side across the road. Parking would be impossible on the fields. Confirmation will be on the BOFRA website shortly. They haven't planed an alternative or a rerun of the race yet. Watch this space. Pass on the word.
What a real shame to end the championship this way.
Fitness can't be stored. It must be earned over and over, indefinitely.

Yep, while most of the fell running world rushes to Langdale, I am looking forward to a slightly quieter day in Wasdale.
My final counter to complete my first (and probably last) BOFRA Champs.
Back to super-longs and ultras next year.

I have to do Wasdale Show to get my 8 races in.
Even better, I'll be in the camper van.
Bill, do you reckon it will be any quicker to go round by Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith rather than struggle over to Ulpha and then take the 5092/590?
You can start without me, formal business will be after Dinner I think.
Could be in serious need of a beer or two by the time I get there.
