I'm unattached and generally enter races as such.

A perk of being a FRA member is that it counts as a UKA-affiliated club in races (mostly road races, admittedly) where entry fees are discounted for afiliated club members so, skinflint that I am, I use FRA in these races.

I always used to put down FRA for everything as I was never a member of any club - never questioned, even works on road races.

I now put down Brycheiniog . That works too.

Some of us results people are savy to clubs not attached. Hence you can have whatever club name you want, but will always end up with a 'u' tag to show it is an unattached one if not affiliated. It is better being honest though

I'm not sure that's true...

THe FRA is affiliated to UK Athletics, so it does count. Recently though, a couple of road races I've entered have asked for the registration number and I can't find that in the FRA handbook....

an increasing number of road-race application forms now ask for a "National Registration" or "National Affiliation Number" that FRA members don't have
