    Headtorch event

Any of you guys fancy a run or bike up Beamsley Beacon next Weds night with a slight competetive edge See the following link http://www.wharfedaleharriers.org.uk...tsevent07.html
The last one up Weets hill was very interesting especially when it snowed!
Only 30 seconds between 1st runner and 1st bike.
I think the bikes could be quicker this time.

I shall be doing this tomoro night, went up Beamsley last night in the rain and could see about a yard in front of my nose at the trig point...... even though I know it quite well still managed to lose the path on the way down and ended up in thick heather!!

Looking forward to it and hope it is cloudy again!!

Nice one glass ankles. Should be intresting as route choice is totally open and i know one or two have already been looking for the quickest route choice to the one and only check point at the trig point.

Does a cyclist have to have his bike with him at the check point?

    Whatcha Glass Ankles.

Yes, 'friad so. Nice try though

Cyclists and runners have to maintain their elected disciplines throughout the event. So I can't leave my bike at the bottom of the rough fell and pick it up later.

I think that's about the only rule there is! (...though I suppose a runner could mug a cyclist on the way back... )

    See ya later

Everyone had a cracking time last night, bit tricky coming down that stream/gully path thing!

Gutted to be pipped by the first cyclist on the last bit of road, mind you it was fat boy Pearce and he did have gravity on his side!!

Glad you enjoyed it Glass Ankles, It was nice to have a good turnout. I will probably do another one at the end of the year when darkness sets in again.
You might get the better of the bike next time. Thinking perhaps of doing one over Ilkley moor.
