Obviously theres the fairfield horseshoe but i dont know what its like for a first ever run in the fells.

Fairfield Horseshoe would be perfect as a 1st Lakes run. When you looking at going Al?

Also have you thought about joining Xmas on the Fells do too? Are you old enough to drink?

I've not been to Lakes for ages and fancy a day or weekend up there in next few weeks while the leaves are still on the trees. Let me check what I've got on and I'll send you a PM. Perhaps we can rustle up a few more friends / forumites

My elder daughter who is 19 ran Fairfield (okayish) in the summer - not quite her first fell run but her first one in the Lakes. The descent is just a never ending humdinger

Nov 1 or Nov 8 suits me. Are we leaving the pub and trotting up to t' recce section?

One thing Al; this is not a sneaky plan to get us oldies to do more of your pesky maths homework is it?

No I've done two - the race in May and my trot round with my daughter in July.
