I said Jeff Beck because of all the (many) guitarists I've seen live, he's the only one who seems able to just WILL the sound into the air, rather than there being any sense of technique/physically manipulating the guitar.

Sorry Ady, I missed the Steve Vai video off. I was trying to show the difference between guitar making the music, and guitar just being an excuse to play nonsense that isn't really musical.

Ok. Acoustic-Gordon Giltrap, an amazing talented guitarist. Fantastic live and a superb composer.
Electric-Uli Jon Roth- The sounds he produces are wonderful, except when he sings. Brill guitarist but you always have to ignore his singing.
