What a great site! My mountain marathon meals will forever be transformed!

I had previously gone with cous cous meals as weight vs calories has been good, added with salami / pepperami plus some more herbs and loads os spices actually makes an alright dish. Although reading the site above i feel they may not be quite up to your culinery standards.

I did a Scottish C2C, 8 years ago, and took sachets of Complan & Glucose. Ian Leighton & Robin Price were big exponents of this back in the early 80's, doing ultra, multi-day traverses in Scotland. Their reckoning was that 4oz of Complan + 2oz of Glucose dissolved in a pint of burn water was good for 4 hours running (still drinking plenty of water between 'feeds'). It is not unpalatable, but you really appreciate getting to a cafe or pub and scoffing some 'standard' nosh.

Yeah, I remember something about Feinnes utilising loads of butter, it makes sense really, if you can stomach it. The Missus won't!

I am already having a re-think, I need more fat to bring the calorie content up, in relation to bulk/weight carried + cooking time to consider.

Some good ideas here, just a matter of sorting them out. Currently wandering round supermarkets, wearing reading glasses and trying to read the nutrition on every package. I may be arrested soon .
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.
