    i was crap at nav, twas only cause of TA i learnt it, and i've still been known to run along a drystone wall wondering where the feck the stile is that on the map
    go play on the m 6, now, how does that sound

    Want to brush up on your navigation, try a bit of orienteering? There are lots of low key events where there will be people to help. If you can orienteer on quality terrain, mountain navigation becomes so much easier.

    I can always suggest a local club if you want more info'.

    If you want an interesting day out on Jan 3rd why not try the John O Goats Race in Lyme Park (Free entry to the park on that day saving you £4.60 per car) No entry fee but organisers ask you to buy raffle tickets and give a donation as the proceeds will be divided between a Kenyan charity and MS research
    You've to find controls (don't worry it's a mass start = just follow the crowd) miss out some controls of your choice (how many you miss out depends on your age class)
    3 courses Long (10 km), Medium (8 km), Short (6 km)
    These are the course lengths with no controls omitted. You leave out between 2 and 5 controls, depending on your age class, so the actual courses are shorter than these (but don't forget these are straight line distances(.
