Brechfa?
Having spent way too many wet, frozen nights around Sennybridge in summers past I've always rather avoided that part of the world. Are there any decent B&Bs nearby to Brechfa and whats the ground like?

Excellent vid, now I have got a taste for it... and you are even allowed brakes! Are these single speed MTB's or are they fixed?

I'm sure there are unhinged individuals who ride fixed but most have a free-wheel.

Hanneke - yes they have brakes! One guy did the race on fixed, the loon! The rest of us had freewheels.

Loons there were aplenty; the guy using what looked like track drop bars and road brake levers took my breath away but he still cleaned the big hill which most pushed!

i've ridden the Skyline Trail at Afan Argoed on a crosser.

I did an off road Tri there, as my first tri, on a borrowed MTB with no suspension... the marshalls thought I was crazy... I did not know what to expect, just as well, because as a result I did rather well I had never ridden a MTB before, so it was 'interesting'

I have to say, I have VERY limited expereince with MTB's and off road riding but much prefer the x-bike over the MTB... suppose that is because it is closer to riding a road bike, which I am used to...
