The worst and the best in 2008

What is the worst and the best (running-related) thing you'll remember from 2008? For me

The worst: being out injured for the first six months with plantar fascist and having to miss the Three Peaks, Borrowdale and many more local races.

The best: the scenery I saw in my early-morning training runs while I was on holiday in the Pyrenees this summer. Baigura, pic de Garralda, etc ....fantastic.

Worst: Crocked medial knee ligament for most of May, June and July and the absolute agony of running on it again in August

Best: Actually recovering from the injury - I thought it was a hardcore cartilage injury for a while. Oh and running the 3P in a respectable time for once .

Worst:- Being injured for last 4 week with now't more than a little stress break in a tiny bone in the foot and banging a stone in weight on

Best:- Giving Mrs Satgger a loving kiss on the summit of The Ben in the race, when the clouds had just cleared and the views and kiss were stunning

Best: I've had a brilliant year and enjoyed Burnsall, PPP, Gt Whernside and Tanky's Trog in particular but my highlight was completing the Yoredale 100 back in May. This was the focus of my year and completing it gave me real pleasure

Worst: not running for 12weeks in the summer with Runner's knee problem

Worst: Being injured and having to pull out of the Edale Skyline and 3Peaks part way through

Best: Getting over the injury and winning a local fell race, discovering a renewed training interest and realising that every days a holiday, because if your not here, then you can't enjoy it

Best Being a new fell runner over the last twelve to eighteen months, getting into the 3 Peaks race. In the early part of the year training hard and being in the form of my life. Really looking forward to the race.

Worst Tripping on the stairs at home and badly spraining my big toe. Then having to retire from 3 Peaks race after Penyghent in agony as a result. Oh well, there is always next year.

Worst: Having to miss the Ben race to be a nursemaid after the Mrs needed an operation. Great that she got fixed, but I was a sulky boy all day!

Best: The final descent from Blisco in the Langdale and the scenery, atmosphere and all-round Tanky's experience.
