    Stanbury Splash

Thinking of doing this as my first race of the year. So now, the obvious question, what's it like?

Fast track out to muddy descent down to and climb from a beck crossing. Gentle climb on more track to house and a path across heather moor before descending to another beck crossing then a really steep climb onto the moor tops before descending down to the track past the house and return roughly the way you came.

If you did the Auld Lang Syne, it is very similar but with a different loop at the far end. Pretty fast running apart from the steep climb (hands required).

Hope there's enough malt loaf to go round?

    Wink

It's a good race and the maltloaf is ace. Even got a recipe book last year (or was it the year before). It's just soooooooo versatile.

Bob has the highlights above. No need to navigate.

It basically heads from Penistone quarry towards Stanbury - it is all pretty much the same up here.
