Just spotted it in the pdf calendar so I might pop over to stretch my legs after ALS.
Map route looks ok, any idea how much tarmac?

Done this for the last three years as it's one of my fave local races. Throughly peeved that a prolonged bout of man-flu means I can't have a crack at beating my PB. Conditions should be set for a fast one as it's meant to be very cold and windless. See you all as I'll be helping out somewhere along the course.

A very short section - maybe 300 yards, if that. It's just before the steepest part of the race.

...not really, it's not too rough - you pretty much follow the line of a wall up before heading off for the top - the toughest aspect of the race are the peaty mounds which can swallow you up to your ankles, but the ground frost and lack of recent rain should mean that it's not as heavy going as e.g. last year. Also it was very windy and running against that was hard work last year. Again, that shouldn't be an issue tomorrow.
