Well, I've entered this one this weekend as part of my drive to enter more races. Third race in 16 days. I don't think I entered that many all year last year
And when I say race..... I mean the emphasis is on entering!

whizzed round this this morning, knocking 4 mins off my time from 2 years ago
not too muddy, and the rain kept off - I love this race
excellently organised/marshalled by Bell Vue Racers

MTBB/Vince - how did you get on...?

I didn't do it Daz. Ended up going over to do the Shining Cliff Woods race. My other half hijacked my plans a week ago when she decided that we could make a day of it and go to Bakewell and Matlock Bath afterwards. The Tesco on Portwood just didn't appeal to her.

Well done on knocking so much off your time. I did run the route last week and it was a bizarre mix of solid ice or boggy slush in places so I can't imagine conditions improved greatly in time for today.

sorry, my fault, I knew you were doing Shining Cliffs - how did that go?

underfoot conditions were a bit bizarre - thin layer of mud over frozen ground underneath - a few people in road shoes were slipping over on the bends (I was wearing my trusty Mizuno Harriers)

Great race. I think I'll try to get to the other two this year as well. It was a bit like running through Styal from the Chapel to the Ronaldo crash tunnel with a 400 ft climb at the start and again at the start of the second lap. Still managed to fall arse over tit jumping onto a mudslicken (is that a word ?) wooden bridge and I just skated straight over the other side.

I did better than I thought I would do, but that last finishing hill is a bit of a killer (all 400m of it ). Got 37.30 ish but forgot to stop my watch as racing 2 others to line line!
Going to try and find the results now.
