The landlord has cooked a chilli/rice for runners/supporters at the previous two runnings of the event and why not enjoy a drink.

24th at Captain Cooks so i may see you.

Sounds great. Staying with family in Glaisdale, so drink definitely on the cards!

    Captain Cook's Race

Well here we go again. A new year and a Great Ayton mud bath awaits. Have decided to have an easy run round this tomorrow. Anyone else thinking of lining up?

First mile is road followed by wide farm track. Descent towards Gribdale terrace is very muddy at the moment. More road after Gribdale Terrace (about half mile) Likewise, the field / woodland sections from Dikes Lane to the finish are very muddy. So,do you want comfort running on the road/track or grip when descending from the monument? I'll be wearing mudclaws as I hate slipping around in the swampy stuff.

Another good run this one, seemed to be more runners than last year? I was running in quite a big group for much of it, lots of overtaking and being overtaken. Knocked about a minute off last year's time, I await the results with bated breath after my wife told me "you'd better come top 10" (I doubt I did).
