    Beginners Running Links -

I found these two links very interesting, and i thought for the beginner like me, they might be interesting...

So any lurkers there that are not as chatty as me, here are two wicked sites to go read...

    http://running.about.com/od/runningf.../Beginners.htm

    http://www.beginrunning.com/

When I started running (3yrs ago) I found the asics online training programme really good.

The programme is one of the few online guides I found that actually takes into account that some people are unfit and absolute non runners when they start. I think my first ever "run" involved 3-5 minutes running and a lot of walking. I used it to get fit enough to do a 5km race for life, lost nearly 3 stone in the process. Then I just kept up the running, I did a few more road and trail races, then got confident enough to join a club, then got lured onto the fells.....

Thank you Jumbly, thats inspirational for me being a very much a beginner...

I am at that stage now, the run/walk stage, and i have aimed myself to do a 5k race for life, and i would so love to lose 3 stone, could you possibly email me?

I also would like to eventually have the leg strength to do a fell run.
