    Yorkshire

Hi all. Been running for a few years now, quite a good runner on the roads and particularly enjoy xc. Can anybody reccomend a good fell race for beginners in the Yorkshire area?

    cheers

Depending on how far you want to run also look at the BOFRA site (2009 races do not seem to be up yet) and the LDWA site (many of the challenge events can be run).

As I'm sure you are aware YW the great county of Yorkshire is huge. If you can be more specific in area that would help.

If you live in the Dales then checkout the local clubs up there, Merry Legs, Stolly or Derby Tup could help.

If you live a bit further south Then me or Plumbum could put a few your way.

    Happy hunting

Try Ilkley Moor on 22nd. It's a "proper" fell race with bits of everything.i.e; moors, rocks, steep ascents;fast descents and its 5 miles (ish!)
    Good luck if you try.

I live in Hull, but only home weekend due to working away in the week. Dont have a problem with travelling around Yorkshire.

I'll have a hunt about and see what I can do.

    Cheers

You want to be looking at the North Yorks moors area then. They do a winter fell race series, the main club is here http://www.nym.ac/
