But not from Dalehead - too much effort was expended in preventing the sheets from disappearing over Buttermere to take times - sorry!

I think I saw quite a lot of Bec on Saturday!!!

By the way, I was looking at all the old results in the hall & was wondering if anybody knows about 2005. Si Booth won in 1:38 (not a bad time), but the rest of the field were at least 10 minutes behind. Were the conditions really bad, or did they all get lost somewhere? (We're talking decent runners here, as well; Andrew Wrench, Darren Kay, Chris Doyle etc.)

"The ninth AW was run in perfect conditions and clear blue skies and a light cool breeze on the tops.

The senior event was won by Simon Booth for the 6th time"

    (The Fellrunner June 2005)

No mention of anyone getting lost and Simon can be outstanding on his day and presumably he does know the best lines by now! And as anyone reading his Profile will remember he had a brilliant year in 2005. British Champion, Runner-up to Jebb in the Sky Runner World Series, etc.

I was with you all the way until i overheard you say "im sticking to bunny runs" as we headed up Hindsgarth only to have you pass me and take about 7mins of me. Seems you had a very good second half !!!!! Well done. I dont think the wind made that much difference, at least it didnt for me.

Thanks Graham, it just seemed surprising that Joe Average (i.e. me) had a time of 1:46 the following year, that would have placed me 2nd in 2005. Maybe everybody stopped to look at the fantastic views (and who could blame them?)
